As part of our commitment to holistic education, the Elementary Years Programme organized the Bodily-Kinesthetic Event for the students of EYP1, EYP2 and EYP3. The event aimed to foster physical development, coordination and teamwork. In line with this year’s theme, 'Phoenix,' which symbolizes growth and renewal, the students participated in exciting and challenging activities that tested their physical skills and practical understanding.
The little ones from EYP1 took part in the 'Garden-Fresh Food Run.' They began by running to an arch and then proceeded to a point where they sorted fruits and vegetables into two buckets. Carrying the buckets on a stick, they raced to the finish line.
EYP2 students participated in the 'Balance and Crawl Sprint.' They started by running to a point where a basket with two balls was placed. After carrying the basket to the next point, they balanced the balls on two cones and left the basket beside them. Next, they crawled under a net and sprinted to the finish line.
The EYP3 students took on the 'Rise & Navigate Challenge.' They began by running to a point where a hoopla with a string and a ball inside was placed. Using the hoopla and string, they dragged the ball to the next point. After leaving the hoopla by a marker, they hopped on one leg across a yoga mat with foot impressions. They then jumped over two hurdles, passed an agility pole and sprinted to the finish line.
A few days before the event, the children were briefed on the races and the playground rules. They were given regular practice sessions for the heats. The Intra-class event was held on Wednesday, 4th September, for EYP3 and on Friday, 6th September, for EYP1 and EYP2. Two students from each section were selected to participate in the Inter-class event, which took place on Monday, 16th September 2024. The children were full of enthusiasm and performed with great energy.
