In the formative years of life, building a strong foundation for good health is just as important as academic learning. Developing healthy eating habits from an early age empowers children to grow stronger, think clearer and feel more energetic. Understanding what to eat and why it matters helps young minds make informed choices that benefit their bodies today and in the years, to come.

With this objective in mind, a session by the Nutritionist, Ms. Anamika Biswas, was conducted for the students of EYP1, EYP2 and EYP3, on Tuesday, 6th May 2025.

The session began by taking the blessings of the Almighty. It was followed by an EYP3 student welcoming the guest speaker.

Ms. Biswas spoke about the vital role food plays in keeping our bodies strong and our minds active. Through relatable examples and lively visuals, she helped children understand the importance of including fresh fruits, vegetables, whole grains and dairy in their daily meals. The concept of ‘eating a rainbow’ was introduced, encouraging students to consume a variety of colourful foods for complete nutrition.

Equally important was the discussion on the harmful effects of junk food. Children were made aware of how sugary, fried and processed foods can weaken the body, affect digestion and reduce their ability to concentrate.

The children actively participated in the session, sharing their thoughts and enthusiastically answering questions. The session concluded with a note of gratitude by an EYP3 student.

The learning from the session was reiterated by the class teachers by integrating the topic, ‘Nutritious Diet’, in sync with Sustainable Development Goal 3- Good Health and Well-Being.
